about

The end of a thought- the final series of attempts at measurement – of ordering but not order. The third entry in a trilogy of operas for Focus Group LLC following WORLD RECORD and WASTED LIGHT, this piece has the same reach for something essential through smallness, but this time joined by about a hundred young musicians.

Matters of consequence or futility, sung about joyfully this time. Why snap your knowing to the grid when you can let your imprecise truth go completely vertical? A first time reunion of friends, mentors, players, singers, and a dozen or so tambourines. If the previous two operas were “can you hear my voice from this far away?” and “is there something here worth singing?” - WITNESS REUNION is an attempted earnest “yes”.
